Terms & Conditions

Effective: May 25, 2025

 

These Terms and Conditions apply to all students enrolling in tutoring services provided by English Planet. By booking or attending a tutoring session, students agree to the following terms:

1. Scheduling and Attendance

  • Each tutoring session is scheduled for 60 minutes at a fixed time.

  • Students who arrive late will only receive tutoring for the remaining time within the scheduled hour.

  • If a student is more than 10 minutes late, the tutor may log off, and the session will be considered a no-show (see section 2 below).

2. Cancellation, Tardiness, and Technical Issues

  • Students must notify English Planet at least 24 hours in advance to cancel or reschedule a class without penalty.

  • If a student:

    • Cancels within 24 hours of the scheduled session,

    • Fails to show up,

    • Joins more than 10 minutes late,

    • Experiences technical issues on their end (e.g., poor internet connection, device failure),

    they will be charged the full tuition for that session.

3. Tutor Absence or Technical Issues

  • If a tutor is more than 5 minutes late, or if the class is affected by technical issues from the tutor’s end, the session will be rescheduled at no cost to the student.

  • Tutors may reschedule a session with at least 24 hours' notice to the student. In such cases, students will not be charged.

4. Class Participation & Score Improvements

  • English Planet offers preparation programs for TOEFL, TOEFL Jr., IELTS, and other standardized English tests. While we provide structured support and guidance, score improvement is not guaranteed unless students:

    • Complete all assigned homework,

    • Actively participate in classes,

    • Avoid excessive absences.

5. Program Expectations

  • The tutoring program is designed to supplement—not replace—students’ regular school English classes.

  • Students are expected to maintain their academic coursework alongside tutoring.

6. Payment

  • Tuition fees are to be paid in advance. Sessions are billed on a prepaid basis in packages or individually, depending on the enrollment option selected.

7. Conduct and Fair Use

  • Students are expected to behave respectfully and maintain a quiet, distraction-free environment during online sessions.

  • Disruptive behavior or misuse of class time may result in a warning or removal from the program.

9. Intellectual Property & Confidentiality

  • All lesson materials, practice exams, recordings, and resources provided by English Planet are the intellectual property of the company.

  • These materials are for the personal use of the enrolled student only and may not be shared, copied, distributed, or reproduced without the written consent of English Planet.

  • Any unauthorized sharing, publishing, or commercial use of company materials will result in immediate termination of tutoring services and may lead to legal action.

 

Acknowledgment

By continuing with the tutoring services, the student (and/or parent/guardian, if under 18) acknowledges they have read, understood, and agreed to these terms.
